As there are large numbers of popular museums in Goa, this museum is also quite popular, and is currently visited by many tourists from different parts of the world. This museum is located in a new building that is situated at the Patto Plaza in Panaji. It is the imposing size of the museum that definitely deserves mention and stands apart from the rest of the museums in Goa. It stands inversely proportional to that of the scale of collection that is contained inside the museum. Though there are very few exhibits to preserve in this museum, yet the small amount of collection contained in this museum is definitely worth the mention.

There is an array of temple structure that is contained in the museum. In addition to that, you will also find the hero stones along with the artefacts of the dowdy colonial era. There are also some of the rarest collection of beautiful Jain bronzes that has been rescued by the excise officials and customs from the smugglers. These are now preserved in the ground floor of the museum. When you visit this museum, you will also find the photos of the prehistoric rock carvings that will capture your attention.
